The arguments from both the parties were completed on Tuesday in the court of District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh on the application regarding worship in the basement of Vyasji located in Gyanvapi campus. The court will order on this issue on Wednesday.
In this case, plaintiff Shailendra Pathak’s advocates Vishnu Shankar Jain, Sudhir Tripathi, Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi and Deepak Singh argued in the court that a part of the application given by them was accepted by the court. In which a request was made to hand over the basement of Vyas ji to the DM.
The second request was made that the barricading that had been made in front of Nandi ji should be opened and people should be allowed to enter the basement of Vyas ji for worship. A request was made to issue an order on this.
On this, Mumtaz Ahmed and Ikhlaq Ahmed raised objection on behalf of Anjuman arrangements. Said that Vyas ji’s basement is part of the mosque. Worship cannot be allowed. After hearing both the sides, the court fixed Wednesday for the order.
In the application given by Anjuman in this matter, it was said that this suit is hampered by the Special Worship Act and hence is not maintainable. Argued that the basement is part of the mosque. It is the property of Waqf Board, hence worship should not be allowed.
